Campaign Story

My name is Caitlin, I am 34 years old, my husband Kenny and I have been trying to conceive since 2011. For a lot of our relationship we were uninsured, thankfully we have gotten coverage for ourselves so we could move forward with trying to grow our family. I was nervous for the first few years and was not sure if I wanted to go and discuss infertility. I was worried the would say becoming pregnant and carrying a child would not be an option for me. However, I finally took the step and we moved forward with an infertility specialist in August of 2023. We began with tests and there did not seem to be a clear reason as to why we weren’t able to make this work. My husband passed with flying colors, but I still had to continue with tests. I scheduled an HSG, and I was surprisingly very excited to complete this procedure. I heard after completing the HSG many couples become pregnant, but after three months with no pregnancy I knew that was not going to be the case for us. Next steps called for a little more help, so we began the IUI process. Our insurance covered three rounds of IUIs, unfortunately, they all failed. I was starting to lose hope and began to feel like a failure myself. My doctor is not sure why we are not able to become pregnant (unexplained infertility), so the next step is IVF. Due to this uncertainty we are also hoping to do ICSI. Since there is no test to know whether or not I have a fertilization problem, we do not want to lose any eggs by risking to move forward without ICSI. I am still trying to stay very hopeful and optimistic that this is the final hurdle to get over to be able to start our family. None of this process is covered by our insurance, so treatment and medication will all be out of pocket. I am beyond grateful for any monetary help, and am hoping to be able to find that support here. I also am grateful for prayers, positive thoughts, and good vibes to be sent not only to my family but to all those trying to move forward and reach their dreams of having a family. Whether they are trying to achieve this with fertility treatments, surrogacy, or adoption. I hope we all can grow our families, and get over those final hurdles together.

    IVF Cost Breakdown

We received our final fee breakdown today. Our ending cost as of now will be $18,400, excluding medication and travel. Roughly looking at $22,000 total with medication, hopeful that insurance will cover some of the medications costs.

    IVF Freeze All Cycle: $11,500.00
Includes retrieval and transfer procedures as well as 3 months of embryo freezing.
    ICSI: $3,000.00
Recommended due to the fact we don't know why I'm not getting pregnant. This allows us to move forward and not lose eggs if I have a fertilization problem. Which we unfortunately can't test for.
    PGTA: $3,900.00
This is genetic testing, that we opted in for to try and reduce the chance of miscarriage. Since the three rounds of IUI failures were so hard to deal with, we just want to do what's best for us mentally and emotionally.
